After a run of public holidays, we have a full week this week! As mentioned in last week’s update, kinder registrations for 2026 open on May 1st. I have had some good questions about how families opt in for the extended, pre-prep hours if their child is eligible, at this stage, the process hasn’t been made clear on the Shire’s end. If your child is eligible for the 18 pre-prep funded hours, I would recommend calling Kate or Lucy who manage kindergarten enrolment for Mornington Peninsula Shire and asking them directly. I will also pass on information as it becomes available.
Upcoming events
- Leafy Sea Dragon parent meetings start this week. Please see the sign-up sheets outside the kinder room to book a spot. Jellyfish meetings will start next week.
- Jellyfish Kinder children will begin their Bush Kinder program this week! Please see this link for some great information about the benefits and importance of nature-based programs, such as bush and beach kinder: Bush Kinder: nature, wellbeing and resilience – ABC Kids
- Leafy Sea Dragons are having a Living Safely With Dogs incursion on Wednesday. I have sent specific information about this incursion separately
- This Friday will mark the first visit of our Regis Grand-friends to the Leafy Sea Dragons. Our Intergenerational Program was a great success in 2024 and we are looking forward to continuing and deepening our connection with the residents of Regis Rosebud.
